Frequently Asked Questions
Get answers to common questions about Professional Retouch Color.
Most clients return every four to six weeks for root retouches, depending on growth rate, contrast, and desired look. Your stylist will recommend an ideal schedule during consultation to maintain color consistency and keep your hair looking fresh and professional.
Professional Retouch Color uses targeted application and salon-quality formulas to minimize damage. With proper technique and conditioning treatments, hair health is preserved. Your stylist assesses porosity and recommends bond-building or moisturizing services if needed to protect texture and strength.
Root retouches are primarily for regrowth, but our technicians can blend and harmonize roots with existing highlights or balayage. In some cases a glaze or toner will be recommended to refresh dimension and maintain seamless transitions across all color services.
Appointments typically last 45 to 90 minutes depending on hair length, density, color complexity, and whether a treatment or toner is included. Your stylist provides an estimated time when booking so you can plan accordingly for your salon visit.
Generally we recommend arriving with unwashed hair 24-48 hours after washing to allow natural oils to protect the scalp and improve color adhesion. If hair has heavy product or buildup, follow stylist instructions—occasionally a gentle pre-wash is preferred.
Protect color with sulfate-free shampoo, cool water rinses, and weekly color-safe masks. Minimize heat styling, always use a heat protectant, and schedule regular retouches and gloss treatments to preserve vibrancy and extend salon-fresh results between appointments.
